Anyone install the Android x86 project on anything yet?

Not sure where this should be posted exactly. Its a mobile OS, but ported to x86, so it could run on normal desktops and laptops. If you installed it on a Macbook, would that be an unholy abomination?

Hmm... I'm not really familiar with Android. Maybe the value would be more apparent to me if I used an Android phone, or tablet.

Most definitely would. Although they're all designed for touch interface in mind so I don't know how usable it would be on a non-touch device.

It might be a decent OS to run on the one of the x86 tablets, like the Windpad 110W or the Acer W500. (if it runs)

I'd rather see them port the Market to Linux via a compatibility layer, that would be much more useful. Can't get it to install in VirtualBox.

I just ran a LiveUSB version on my Asus eeepc 900ha. While it was snappy, it seemed awkward. However, I have never used Android before. Also you cannot use the market place and there is no flash support. That really killed it for me.

Seeing as how I'm not an Android Dev, I don't see the point of this for me. I'd much rather just use ubuntu. It doesn't seem to offer anything that a desktop OS doesn't.
