I just moved from the San Francsico Bay Area down to San Diego for school. Just curious to see if any other Anandtechers were around. I'm at UCSD, btw. Pass this along to your FS/T and Hot Deals friends!

In orange county here. My whole family lives in san diego, and I did too up until four years ago. As a matter of fact I'm going down there tomorrow. Welcome to SoCal, hope you enjoy it here.

Welcome to SoCal. I'm in the San Fernando Valley, about 20 miles northeast of L.A. There are some AT'ers in San Diego. In fact, I did a transaction with d33pt and met him in person when I drove down to San Diego to pick up a monitor he was selling. Look him up. He's a good guy.

I'm loving it here so far. I'm staying on campus but I do have my car here, so there's no shortage of exploration. Hope to hear from more locals.

Dan, thanks for the kind words... the funny coincidence is that ander is a good friend of mine that moved down to SD recently... any one in a trade with him, have no worries, he's a topnotch trader..

I'm in LA... I was supposed to be in SD this weekend to visit a friend while she was at some genetics conference this weekend... but I guess that didn't happen. ;)

Welcome to SoCal!

I am no longer there, but lived in Coronado for a long time. Will be there again in the first part of December.

I've lived up and down socal. From Irvine/OC up to Calabasas/SF valley

So what's up with the 626? I can never find anything to do out there except to drink! Sure there's malibu speedzone but too damn expensive.

Just over 2 hours away in the S. Cali Hi-desert.

La Jolla has my regular surf breaks (unfortunately, I am reduced to swimming since my accident).

I expect to be in San Diego working next Summer (it's too hot to work outdoors near where I live).

San Diego is a great place to live if you don't mind "crowded". I remember when rush hour traffic lasted an hour. :(

Any cool places to visit in San Diego?

I'm headed there for a five day vacation later this month and wouldn't
mind knowing. I already have tickets for the Chargers/Bills game.

I describe traffic here as between San Francisco bad and Los Angeles bad. It's tolerable...but not pleasant. Around here...things tend to close early from what I've noticed; except restaurants. Some good food to eat here. I'm still exploring around though.

oh yeah, if you have the time take a 1/2 day fishing charter, it a freakin blast!
