Some people have more time than money. $50-150 is a lot of money to just replace a motherboard.Originally posted by: Booster
Well I drove up to Portland yesterday, no luck @ Fry's. Checked GreyBar, no luck. Called someplace from GreyBar called Radar something, no luck...
But hey, at least I got to drive in Portland rush hour traffic, during the holiday rush, with a headache, in the rain........
I may not be the best person to give a piece of advice, but is replacing capacitors worth it? I don't think so. Motherboards aren't expensive, and the amount of time and effort you're putting into replacing capacitors makes it ineffective. I think it would be better just to get a new board. Of course, that's just my opinion.
I suppose fixing the broken cable on my ~$300 value laptop wasn't worth it, either? 😛 The stupid cable costs anywhere from $50 to $160 to replace depending on where you look and how lucky you get (ebay)...
