I'm planning on flying down to Miami on memorial day weekend and will be staying in the coconut grove area. Does anyone from Miami know what there is to do around there?

Will it be expensive to cab from Coconut Grove to South Beach? South Beach seems to be the main attraction so I will be heading there at night.

Anyone have any other recommendations on what to do in Miami on a Saturday afternoon.
 
I live around there and it is quite expensive to take a cab between the grove and south beach. You are most likely better off just renting a car depending on how long you plan to be there.
