lol and I do not mean the STD :)

I am moving to an apartment in framingham and the only thing that they have available for high speed is Verizon DSL, which I have heard sucks.

I just wanted to know what type of equipment they were using (really if my router will work with it) and which plan is the best...

even though all the plans seem to suck.

thanks for the info

I have Verizon DSL and my router works fine with their service. The modem they supplied to me is a Fujitsu Speedport ethernet modem.

My brother has Verizon DSL over in Baltimore, MD and he uses a netgear RT314 router with it and it works just fine.. I'm not sure of the modem though, but that fujitsu mentioned above is probably the same one... its white i know that....

I'm on the North Shore and am going to be going with DSL via Speakeasy which has an excellent rep here you might want to see if they cover your area, a couple of my friends here though have Verizon and are reasonably happy with it.

They like to use PPPoE as their connection method. I don't think it's everywhere, but it's something to keep in mind.

Hey thanks for the heads up all...

I was worried about PPPoE and hope that where I am they are not using it, but I believe my Router supports that anyway (netgear rp114)

oh well bye bye comcast and loads of web space, hello satin's minon.

I use it in NY, they sent me the westell Wirespeed modem. They use Winpoet but I also use Raspppoe just fine.
