I'm in town for a few days with time to kill.

Anyone want to grab dinner?

If you were in Chicago, I'd say sure, lets get an Italian beef, some deep dish, or maybe hit up a good taqueria, but alas, Cincinatti is like the far east.

It's a shit stain just like the rest of the state.

The whole midwest really. Although Michigan definitely has more to offer naturally in coastlines particularly the UP. What ever happened to the Columbus trip? That's where I'm at, and it is the best of the "3 C's" which isn't saying much when in competition with Cincinnati and Cleveland, :p. Cincinnati being the worst because of urban blight like Cleveland, but also rednecks from Kentucky.

I was in Columbus in December.

This was a spur-of-the-moment thing. At 9 am my boss asked me if I could come down here and help out with some things. I decided to drive this time. The plane is too much of a pain.

Bummer, although I agree on the flying thing, even if it does involve driving some very dull landscape. I used to drive a lot for my job and have driven enough of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Pennsylvania to last me 12 lifetimes.

It's not too often so I don't mind. I will find a way to hit Akron this time tbo.

Need some dinner recommendations?
Eagle OTR - Great fried chicken and mac 'n' cheese and a huge beer selection.
Adriatico's Pizza on UC's campus.
Moerlein Lager House - Good food with a German base, great beers
Jeff Ruby's Precinct - Pricey as hell but the best steak in town
You can go to the original Tom+Chee's during lunch.
Greater's Ice Cream - Black raspberry chip ice cream is a Cincy tradition
