Anyone in/been in their high school musical?

Our school is doing ours right now, opening night is thursday, and im having a blast!! We're doing Grease and its so much fun, this is my first musical, and sadly im a senior, but ill definitley be working with the local civic theatre and playhouse in the future as well as trying to get involved in small productions in college (PSU-University Park)

If you are/have been involved in musicals, post your experiences!!!

I've been doing shows literally my entire life. It is a heck of a lot of fun, and you meet a lot of great people and have a lot of great experiences. I just closed up a run of Little Shop Of Horrors in which I was the puppeteer. In May I'm playing Prince Charming in a production of Cinderella, and I just auditioned for another show running in July/August.

Just make sure you have fun and try to stay out of the lame politics

I ran lights once, helped with sound, built sets, etc.

EDIT: Experiences: We almost killed an actress once. There was this giant lighted tophat that we were supposed to lower from the ceiling for a nightclub scene (hey, I didn't design the sets, I just built them). The pulley pulled out of the roof where it was mounted that the tophat (weighing over 100 lbs) came crashing down during dress rehursal. Missed an actress by one foot.

Also, we would get really bored in the sound booth, so we decided to take all the 1/2 used 9-volt batteries from the wireless mics (33 in all) and linked them together (approximately 297 volts). We then proceded to shock ourselves. Before you start worrying about us potentially killing ourselves with that, we made sure that it was safe. We had a freshman actor test it for us.

oh tell me about it...the drama behind the drama is intense, but once show week rolls around its a truely spectacular experience...im trying out for Evita in a few weeks, and i forgot to mention my part for Grease is Johnny Casino and Teen Angel....it is truely awesome and the people are alot of fun
