Anyone here work part time?

Just curious what's out there in the part time market. I'd love to find some kind of part time work in the IT field.

oh...IT field. I decided that there weren't any decent PT jobs in that market, so that's why I've been doing a lot more marketing jobs this last year. $15+ per hour...ain't great, but for the little amount of effort that the job requires, I'm not complaining.

care to elaborate on marketing, is it sales or something like that

I do some consulting on the side for various amounts of pay. Depending on what you do/know, you can get from $35 to $75 per hour.

I work for panasonic 2 days a week. usually saturday and sunday. Sometimes friday sunday. I make $17/hr and i have no pressure to sell 😉

I grade papers for lower-division Physics courses.

I grade for 13 hours/week at $10 per hour. This includes grading homework, grading exams, and proctoring exams.

Offer web hosting to the local market, about 5-10 hours a week.

VPS $50/mo offers 10GB/200GB split that into 100 web hosting packages (100MB/2GB) x $9.95/mo packages = $995.00/mo less expenses

It's not as easy as it looks, there's a lot of marketing/billing/support but after a few months you get the hang of it.

i'm a grad student now but i tutor for 20-30 bucks an hour

i normally tutor for about 10 hours a week

Hmm, some days are part time,
but I am at work for 8 hours. 😉

Not 8 hours of work done,if that was not clear.

Damn, you guys have it easy, I get only $12/hr for working with C#, SQL, sockets, crystal reports and reporting services, as well as doing routine system installations and such. I suppose I should be grateful, it's better than working on campus, it pays only $7.xx per hour... greedy bastards.

tutor underclassmen... i set rate at 10$/hr.. no set hours, whenever they need help they contact prof and he refers them to me
research assistant... 20hr/wk.. i think its 14$/hr but not sure--just got it today and wont start til next month

That stuff is easy. I work with humans.

I make around $700 week working 20-30 hours a week.

Some people I work with make $5-8k a month. They don't go to school and work a lot more than I do.

I am in sales by the way.

I work in a web development place part time as a "junior developer". You'd think it would suck, but since i'm "junior" i have little to no pressure on my back, not to mention I can come and go as I please and use school as an excuse. I average a solid 20 to 25 hours a week. I get $15 and am low pressure and usually spend half the time surfing the net. It's great for resume experience though, it's almost like an internship.

I referee hockey in the winter while I am going to school. Anywhere from 15 - 25 dollars per game. I used to work part time at a golf course for 15.50 an hour, but this past year I went full time.

I detail cars. Been doing it since high school, now i am in college

I make 10.75 an hour plus tips (not that much in tips).

Cars are detailed by appointments so i can schedule them to fit my schedule. My boss allows me to go in the shop late and do a car if i have to
