Anyone here work for Cingular Wireless?

When someone file an insurance claim for their phone and get a replacement, do you guys keep the serial # of the phone in the customers databank? My friend got a replacement phone because he lost his but then found his lost phone later. He said I can have it since I also have Cingular and can switch the SIM card over. How would this work?

Hoeboy, I have a friend who works at cingular. So I asked her the question on your behalf, and she replied:

"We work with the pagers for cingular not the phones. I do know that if a pager is stolen and becomes active that they send messages out to whomever is using the unit that says...you are in posession of a stolen pager and please call a number for more info. I don't know if that happens with the phones."

That's a cool way to deter pager theft. Anyway, I hope this helps!
