I have read mixed reviews on the Nike campus in Beaverton OR. Some say it's great, very family oriented and friendly place to work. Others say it's dog eat dog with limited room for advancement. I'm sure there are elements of both as there is anywhere. Looking for more input to help make a decision to relocate or not.

Thanks!

Yeah, but when 95% of the workforce is 12 year olds making a dollar a month competition for the jobs that pay $2 a month is fierce.

They tell me if I sew 4 soccer balls an hour together I will get 9 cents, I do 8 balls an hour and they say I go to fast, not high enough quality, they take all my money!

not really, but i can understand your logic. Big companies usually have more steps to take before you can actually "move up". For example, some big companies have position 1-5, while smaller companies will have positions 1-3. Position 2 at the bigger company cannot even compare to position 2 at the small one. That said, it does differe from company to company. HOwever, in the case of Nike, man, there has already got to be a line for promotions that will open in the next year.

edit:
In other words, if you coming into a high position, then it could be great. But, if you are starting from the bottom, look elsewhere for advancement.

The limited interaction I've had with Nike employees (several of them send their children to the school I work at) indicates that they are happy in their employment and quite satisfied with Nike as a place to work. However, these are primarily executives, so take that into account (these people drive their kids to school in Maseratis). What sort of work would you be doing?
