Well, I finally got the time to get cable internet, so i went to staples to order it b/c of their $130 rebate. Now, reading the signs....I thought it was 19.99 a month, but, when i looked at my receiptm it says 42.99 a month. Hmmm...I asked why and the guy said that after teh rebate it ends up being 19.99 for the first 6 months....Still podering what was going on, I just put the order down since i did not want to come back. Well, I looked up this promotion, and tried ordering it myself...and i see the promotion link, so i clicked it and it just sends me to a page that says:

Buy today and you will be eligible for the following:
With Comcast - Comcast High-Speed Internet - Cable Customer:
$130 Staples Internet Rebate on Comcast

1st 6 mos for $19.99/mo! Limited Time Offer!

So, how exactly do you get it for 19.99 a month? Do i call comcast about it?

You pay $42.99 a month
You get a $130 MIR
($42.99-$19.99)*6=$138

So their math is a little funny, but after the rebate it's about $20/month for the first six months.

I recently helped a co-worker get broadband through Dell.com

They got $100 rebate AND Comcast 6 months at $19.99 plus free cable modem (after rebate).

Note: The offer may have changed since then.

I did this deal except it was a $105 MIR ( which I just received last week) If I recall, you'll be charged the full price on your bill and then be given a promotional discount which will result in a $19.99 charge. If you still have questions, I can check my first month's bill and tell you how they charged me.

I do believe that is correct. But I'm waiting for my wife to wake up so she can confirm this. It's either this or on the bill, it says $19.99 promotion blah blah.
It was 6 months ago when I did it so my memory is a tad bit fuzzy :D

No that would mean two accounting entries which makes no sense.

Your bill's subtotal will be $42.99 + taxes/fees/surcharges ... you will also receive a credit for $23.00 so you are only charged once for $19.99 + taxes/fees/surcharges.
