Does anyone here work at Best Buy? I've got a question about this week's deal on a 3-room DirecTV setup.... Long story short, I'm switching from cable to satellite, and the deal in the paper this morning for a free 3-room setup with Tivo upgrade for $99 sounded good.

Anyway, my question is, was there a specific package for the 3 room install? (2 receivers + 1 Directivo). I stopped by this afternoon, and the salesdroid sold me a 3-room setup (3 standard receivers + multi-LNB dish all in 1 box), plus a Directivo (in its own box). Since the Tivo supposedly is an "upgrade" for one of the receivers, what do I do with the extra receiver? From reading the DirecTV contract, if I don't activate all 3 receivers, I'm screwed, and I have to pay $150 in penalties. Is this true? I hope not, because I don't have that many TVs....

Hope that made sense, it's late and I'm tired... 🙂

Check the 3 room box, most likely 1 receiver has been pulled out, if not call DTV and they will help ya out.

Welcome to Directv!

Make sure to get in contact with Directv concerning your additional receiver.

More than likely the sales droid is hoping that you won't activate the extra receiver to charge you their own penalties.
