Anyone here using a PVR350?

alright so I'm looking into building a HTPC. bought a PVR350, and the tv out is better than I expected. just tried recording, pretty cool. I'm using the included sofware right now, wintv or something like that.

now here's my question, so far I can only play live TV on my TV. can I also play moviesfrom either dvd-rom or HDD.

I'm guessing that I'm gonna have to use some other software. are there any free ones? window based would be cool, but if I have to learn how to play with Linux I will.
