Anyone here using a ATA-raid card(promise) in Linux?

And boot from it?

At work were thinking about putting a RAID(5) card in our webserver, and the director thinks it, specifically, the Promise fasttrack 100 TX2, will work without a hitch in Red Hat 7.1?

But me and the Roomate think he is on some very serious crack. The last time we tried getting a external 66 controller to work in Linux it went pretty badly, note this is back in 99 er so, things might have changed. So i'll pose the question, will the Combo of Red Hat 7.1 and Fasttrack boot, not to mention work?

btw the drives are IBM 60gxps(4), but i don't think that really matters.
