Aside from being stuck with just command line and being pricier, is there any other major difference between using a 2600 router to act as a terminal server or buying a raritan dominion device? it's going to be used to connect up some unix boxes for console access.
Generally a terminal server is a terminal server unless there are specific features you need. I've used cisco routers as terminal servers all the time but there are better solutions out there. I just use them because it's what I have laying around.
We use a lot of raritan stuff where I work, not specifically the dominion, but some KX and KX II 232 series KVM and they are garbage and overpriced. I can only assume their other stuff is just as bad.
