anyone here use Printshop? install problems

PC is pretty basic, Sempron 2400+, NF2 MB, 512 megs of memory, on board video.

my ex boss likes Printshop, had to reinstall XP on his box and he had to reinstall, it was version 20, it would install, but when ran it would sit there on the splash screen. So he bought version 21, it did the same thing. I read a few reviews from people who couldn't get it to run either. So when the splash screen came up, I pressed alt-f4 and I got a box with an error on file netl.pm. I checked, and the file was on the drive, I tried to recopy it from the CAB, and it still won't get past it. I hate Printshop and I'm guessing nobody here uses it, but maybe one of you has, and has enountered this problem? If I press cancel on the error box a few times it will run the program.

sorry wasn't clear, the program installs from the CD with no problems, it's when I try to run it off the HD I get the error, it's erroe 1305, which MS says could be caused by a bad optial drive, I'm going to try another...

Image the program to a harddrive and install from harddrive and see if you still have the problem. Maybe some incompatibility with your drive and some protection.

he has 20 now, he somehow got Costco to refund his money on 21. I took the CD-ROM out of his and put it in mine and it installed fine. I think it's a XP issue, I just tried to update his Nforce drivers, and once the install splash screen went away nothing else comes up.
