Anyone here use Netflix?

I have been wanting it for awhile, and I think I will finally get it. Im thinking about getting the 2 disks per month plan ($14.99). What plan do you have, if a any? Do you suggest Netflix? Why or why not?

I dropped down from 3 at a time to 2 about a month back. Its pretty quick since I live in the distribution city. If I drop the movies off on Monday, I generally get the new ones on Wednesday. It was pretty good when I lived in Virginia Beach too. Selection is great. Never tried Blockbuster but my sister likes the free pickup at the store with her boyfriend.

We do the unlimited three dvds at a time plan. I like it for the selection.

So do we.

:shiftyeyes;

You know, I was poking around in my account the other day and stumbled upon this:

Unlimited rentals - up to 8 movies out at a time for a flat monthly fee of $47.99.

I need a second job :Q

They are pretty good. We have have them for a year or two now. They aren't super duper fast in my area, but they are fast enough. We also use Blockbuster when we're in the mood for something specific that night or just want to browse in-person.

I also signed up for Gameznflicks the other day and should be getting my first games soon. They do games, DVDs, HD-DVDs, Bluray, etc. If they are good enough I might switch, although since Netflix kind of holds the online DVD rental title we might stick with 2 a month from them for DVD movies and 2 a month from Gameznflicks for gaming.

um. pretty much everybody here uses netflix. most people will recommend it, except for the occasional disc-pirate who got pissed because they throttled his account.

yup. netflix pwns. load it up with tv dvds, hbo shows/miniseries/ past oscar winners/nominees top movies of 19xx, documentaries, independent films, music concert dvds, and all the stuff u've missed and u got a massive queue.

Actually, I've never copied a movie in my life, but they throttled my account...I was aboe to do 2 turn-arounds per week at first, (2 at a time) then they started throttling me, so that 1 turn-around was all we'd get weekly. I only live about 80 miles from their San Jose center, so 1 day mailing is normal.
We switched to Blockbuster, and have gotten MUCH better service, ( 2 turn-arounds of 3 at a time) but it seems like Netflix seems to get some new releases before Blockbuster does.
Price is the same, but Blockbuster gives me 1 free in-store rental per week. (still haven't used any though...)

Um, no. They throttle everyone's account, even those who are legit. Basically, after about 4-6 weeks they limit you to about 10 DVDs/month.

Only reason I use Blockbuster is because of their free in store rental coupons..makes it useful when you want a movie without wanting to wait for it to get shipped.

We've had it for over a year and still get around 20 a month.

3 a month for $15. 🙂 I still have my discounted rate from when I worked for Best Buy years ago.

Interesting. I'm on the 3 at a time account and I can't get more than 10. If I don't send any in for 2-3 weeks, I can get immediate turnaround. If I send them in within a week of receiving them, it magically takes them about a week to receive them.

If you plan to try it, try the free month trial first. I'm using the 4-at-a-time trial right now and it's treating me well. 🙂

If you do Blockbuster online instead, you can also get the same deal plus free in store rentals. So if there is a movie you really want to watch or a game you want to rent but it's not arrived, you can mosey on down and pick one up for free.
