I received an internal and external unit
I'm probably paraonid but i live in nyc and I think if I leave the internal unit it my car, someone will steal it, and if I mount the external unit, that'll get jacked too.
For now, I bought an ezclip for the internal unit, but I still have this external unit here. Should I mount it.
The reason why I was given an external unit was because supposedly my car's windshield prevents the internal transponder from working.

my friende keeps it in the glove box and just pulls it out everytime he goesw through

I don't relaly worry. I keep it mounted on the inside windshield.

I drive and park my car in Newark. haven't had a problem yet

We had the pass in our glove compartment of our Odyssey and the sensor picked it up.

Even if it does get stolen, how much can they charge before you notice?
MABEY $50?

wouldn't stealing EZ pass be about as STUPID as you can get?? how much can someone possibly steal from you before you cancel it? also, WOULDN'T use of a stolen EZ Pass transponder be about as stupid a criminal activity as possible? it's like ADVERTISING your criminal activity, don't you think??

i really think you are being paranoid if you think people are stuipd enough to steal an ez pass transponder.

I definitely wanna give that a try. Is there anyway to test this out in my car other than going through an ezpass toll. I don't wanna have it not work and then get fined for improper use of ezpass.

Make a full stop
although I hate those ass holes that do.

and see if it reads it. If it doesn't, take it out and it should read it.

I had my car window broken so that someone could steal a pack of cigarettes off my dashboard.

I was under the impression that EZpass now scans license plates to see if they're valid with the EZPass that's being scanned...
either way, the EZpass I use is mounted inside the bottom left corner of the windshield behind the inspection stickers.

I leave mine right in front of my rear view mirror.

Why would anyone want to steal it? To steal one toll before its deactivated?

i think you missed my point. in my opinion it makes a LOT more sense to steal a pack of cigs than it does to steal an ez pass transponder.

stealing a transponder is like asking to be caught. the FUNCTION of the transponder would work like a tracer. every time you used the trnasponder the authorities would know EXACTLY where you were.

If you stick it in the glove compartment you can usually test it by going thru the "pay" lane, and ask if it came up on the e-z-pass.
