A photographer at a lcal airshow highly recommended this software to me so I tried the free trial edition (good for 30 days) and was very happy with the results...

I use the PureRaw to import my Sony ARW files (it works on all RAW formats) and then did some post processing using Photolab...They have some preset filters that can give you a nice starting point as well...

Thanks for the heads up. Will check it out.

I currently use DxO PureRaw on client files in order to, like yourself, standardize a starting point for editing. In that way writing scripts for initial batch processing is much easier when editing hundreds of files from a single event, especially darkened indoor ones.
