Hey for an auction someone is offering to pay via bidpay but I have not used it before and was wondering what people's thoughts on it were.

I'm so used to paypal. I hate the amount of fees they charge, but I haven't used anything else. I used yahoo paydirect once but I had a problem with it since the other person did not recieve my money for over 2 months, so i would not use them again.

can someone give me some real life pros and cons of bidpay?? thanks

I have used it before. You pay them via CC & they mail a Money Order to the seller. It has been around a while & can be trusted because it is a part of Western Union.

IMHO BidPay is SAFER but slower than Paypal, there's also a $700 limit.

So if you don't mind waiting an extra 5-7 days for the WU MO to be snail mailed to you and it's under $700, I would use BidPay

Pros: if you're the seller, the buyer pays the fees.
Cons: much, much higher fees; slower; more hassle

As a buyer, I usually will skip over auctions that only accespt Bidpay.
