Anyone here use a Magic mouse and Better Touch Tool?

Hi, I recently got a Magic mouse and liked it fine other than it being a bit small and the tracking was too slow.

I looked around and found 'Better Touch Tool' and my tracking speed is much better! Anyhow, what I want to ask is what are a few other things I can do with Better Touch Tool besides increasing the tracking speed as I do not understand what most of the settings in Better Touch Tool do.

Thanks!

Yes and I love it.

You can pretty much do anything in terms of setting up gestures to do what you want on a global or per application basis.

There is more customization in BTT
With BTT you can customize on a global or application level.
Also, if you have a MB you can customize gestures for the trackpad.

customize on a global or application level? What does this mean?

MB? customize gestures for the trackpad?

Please help me out here, thank you

Say, so I threw away Magicprefs and I downloaded BTT , when I click on BTT it does nothing, if you try throwing it away it says it cannot throw it away because it is in use? I cannot find the control panel anywhere for BTT, Magicprefs is 100% gone.

What am I doing wrong, help me out here please!!

Thanks!

Global level: settings apply to all programs at all times
Application level: Safari (for example) will scroll faster or have its own gestures that you can make
MB: MacBook
The glass trackpad can handle I think 5 points, so you can set your own swipes and whatnot.

Wow! This was my gripe. The slow tracking. Even with settings set to max, the mouse still tracked slow, especially on a 27" monitor. Someone suggested another control app (on the apple site forum) that I tried but it disabled other settings like touch scroll. Maybe the app had settings to bring back that function, but it was too over kill for what I needed anyway. I'll give better touch tool a try.
They should update the os-x to correct slow tracking in the first place, so you wont need an add-on app. Im sure it could be done.

It can be done, from the command line. Apple's mouse tracking only goes up to '4'. You can go up to ~20 with a terminal command. Its been this way for a long time.. I had that problem with the 27" iMac, but Magic Mouse is fail without BTT.

I am gonna call Apple tomorrow and try and find out how to do this. There is no question the tracking is way too slow. The Magic mouse is also too small for my hands, but I am going to force myself to like this mouse since I bought if off Ebay and cannot return it. I suppose if I go a month with it and am not getting used to it then I will sell or trade it here at Anandtech.
