search of "broker" / "brokerage" should find some good responses. I use Schwab myself, but I don't really trade I just buy and hold mutual funds. Also their minimum to avoid account maintenance fees is pretty high compared to the others, last I checked you only need $5,000 in your account at etrade.
I etrade myself, but I haven't really checked all the other options lately (opened my account a few years ago). What kind of trading are you planning on?
I am planning on buying/selling/holding stocks through my online account. I have mutual funds, which are dealt with through my broker at Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter. I am looking to invest between 3,000-5,000.
I am willing to bet due to opportunities I messed out on, that quite a few (more than likely inactive) people here are retired now due to trading online.
I know of some old acquaintances that made $10-500k on IPO's during the mid to late 90's, who would be only just turning 30 now.

well, I figured you were going to be buying/selling stocks
What I meant was, how often? Will you be buying and holding for the longterm or will you be day trading? ALso, do you plan on investing money continously (once a month or so) or are you going to stick with your initial capital?
