Heya,

I've had a pobox.com account for years now. I started getting spam because I didn't know any better about posting to newsgroups and such.. so I changed to a new alias @pobox.com. I only give that email address out to personal contacts, people I trust.. and so far it's been great, no junk mail at all. Now, I've suddenly started getting junk mail! ARGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone else had this problem with pobox.com? Do you suppose pobox.com is selling their aliases to 3rd parties?? It's got to be the only explanation. I post to newsgroups using a fake email. EVERY service or site I sign up for (Amazon, Dotster, CNET, Anandtech, eVite, anything..you name it), I've used my hotmail address, and kept my pobox address private. I just don't get it.

Did one of those "trusted people" forward you (and 100 others) some dumb joke at any time? Some of those things are used for spamming purposes. Not everybody knows that.

We do not sell, loan, lease, give away, share or in any other way make your personal information or your Pobox address available to parties other than IC Group, Inc. and its affiliates

Is the mail you are getting coming from one of their affiliates or is it complete garbage?
