I barely remember what Linus said about OS X, but I do remember what people said about his kernel when it was released. I know one reminded me of the other ;)

Anyhow, I wouldnt install Yellow Dog on my iBook. Most people like it, but OpenBSD would be my first choice. Yellow Dog should be fine though. What hardware do you have?

Dunno specs on video card and such
built in ethernet, PC Card slots, hot-swap CDR, Zip & Floppy

That would explain your feelings on Mac OS X. It seems a little slow on my iBook, but I think that is because of the 66mhz bus. You should be able to get a usable linux installation out of it.

You know, you're not going to believe this...

I have the 9.2.1 disk and I could have gone back.

Know why I haven't?

It all comes down to ONE thing.

OmniWeb lets you choose to open a new browser window BEHIND the current window, and of course OmniWeb only runs on OS X, at least as far as I know.
