Anyone here run a lot?

I'm looking for some new shoes. I'll be around 40 miles/week near the end of the spring. I need some comfortable running shoes that I can use for my practices. I'll be doing about 6-8 miles per day, 5-6 days a week. What does anyone suggest? I'll be training for the 800 and the mile, mostly.

Also, I'm going to be racing the 800 and the mile. I'm looking for a suitable track spike under ~$50.00 or so.. Any suggestions?

go to a running store and have them fit you with some shoes. There are different kinds of shoes based on the way you run, and only an experienced runner can help you.

As for a good track spike, since they're only for races, they're mostly pretty similar. I like the Nike Zoom Waffle myself. Very inexpensive (can be found for $20 for last year's model) and pretty comfortable. They're actually spikeless; they just have a nice rubber outsole that I prefer to a spike plate. I usually ran the mile and 2 mile in track, and they worked very well for me. Still have mine after 4 years! New ones are around $40. New balance has a spike, too, think it's the 230 or the 330 is that is very good too. They, too, come in a spikeless waffle outsole.

for some reason i read your title and the first thing that came to mine was "anyone here operate a car lot"

I like newbalance. They have some pretty good quality shoes and a good selection of running/ cross training shoes.
