Anyone here ride fixed gear/track bikes?

I notice a bunch of bikers here in OT..

You wouldn't happen to have an old
fixed rear wheel you'd wanna get rid of cheap?

My main reasoning is to make bike lighter (I live on third floor)

My current freewheel hub is super loud

Be able to trackstand at intersections, not leaning over to put foot down

To check out what it's like to ride fixed.

I'll never understand the appeal of fixed gear bikes! What's most ludicrous are the $800 ones coming out from the major manufacturers.

My bike cost $10

I can track stand balance at a stop light for almost 2 minutes on my mountain bike. The secret is lots of brakes, and practice.

Sorry, no. I've never owned a fixed gear bike. I rode one once but never owned one.

I'm actually just getting back into road cycling over the past couple months. I rode 30 miles Saturday and 68 miles last week total. I love it!

Good luck!

I have friends who can do that on a road bike no problem...I haven't quite figured that out yet though.
