My brother gave it to me as a graduation gift because he got it when he graduated HS. I'm about to start reading it, anyone read it?

Great book,
if you like the far east philosophy, you'll like it. Just listen to the sound of OM

I'll definitely read it over when i get some time.

Its a decent book that's been commandered by the hippy crew as their hipster introduction to eastern thought. Make sure to grab a copy of Kerouac's works to complete that stylish bookshelf. 🙂

heh, funny you'd mention Kerouac. I've read On The Road, and its already on my bookshelf. 🙂

It was one of the required summer reading books in one of my highschool English courses. I remember it being an enjoyable read, but not much beyond that!

have not read it, but I know of Sid Goutama....Buddha...the four noble truths and the eightfold path...good read, good stuff...lots of similarities in world religions, wrote paper on the parallels of christianity and buddhism.
i am sure it is an intersting read...

it is too bad that western culture does not recognize more of eastern culture values... the mix is a great one.

This ultra-conservative has always enjoyed Siddhartha. It shares shelf space with the Dhamapadda, Confucius' Analects, an NRSV Bible, a KJV Bible, a comprehensive compendium of the Gnostic Scriptures, and assorted theology books by Albert Schweitzer. Some of us just enjoy esoterica.
