Well i went paintballing for my first time last week for 4hours straight, didn't miss a single game. They were mostly like 1/2acre open fields with a bunch of misc. tubes and stuff used as bunkers.

Anyway, i had alotta fun, i played w/ my friend who had played a few times. First off, im looking to buy a gun, i plan on going this weekend, and pretty much everyweekend that i have the time for it. So i wanna buy a decent beginer (sp? its too early! :D) gun/marker/whatever. I don't really need an auto-cocker or agitated hopper, all i really want is a decent gun w/ a decent barrel, if it had an electric trigger that would be nice. What do you guys think i should get? I was looking at the tippman 98 custom, kingman spyder 2004, "" "" intimidator, diablo mongoose + LCD, and im open to any suggestions.

Also, i was planning on buying a nitro tank since it's less of a PITA than CO2, and the field i play at does like $15 to play + free air refilles (CO2 and Nitro). I was just wondering what a good tank is, i see ones for like $70 and ones that are $150+ whats the difference? Also, what do all the tank stats mean, like the 68ci and 88ci tanks, and the low/high pressure tanks. I'm wondering if just about any gun/marker will accept just about any Nitro tank, am i right?

Anyway thanks for the help, feel free to throw any advice noob advice too me.

My first question for you is can you afford playing every month? For me when I was actively playing it was expensive (since I was a poor student :( ), especially since I liked getting Marballizer and all-stars.

I advise you to go play a couple more times with rental guns and ask the place you play at if they have higher end guns to try out like cockers or something in that area. If you still really like it and don't mind cleaning up your stuff + marker every time you play... Then I guess its time to buy a new marker. One thing I would recommend buying now is a new mask because that will make playing more enjoyable right off the bat. I recommend a JT mask I am not sure if they brought out any new models or anything but I used the spectra.

If you want to go nitro right away then I recommend getting a marker that can handle it stock. You might want to check out angels ;) I dont know about markers on the market now but when I was active many of the low end markers could not use nitro off the bat because you need to have a regulator. Try to skip the tippman and spyders and go for a little higher if you are serious about playing this game. I heard good things about the bob long intimidators but never used one myself. One of the great benefits of going nitro is being able to go low pressure, but in order to do this you must have the right internal parts for your marker, so on the higher end stuff its easier to go lp because they usually are ready to go lp out of the box while the low end stuff you have to trick out in order to go lp. You might think you are saving money by going with a spyder or something down there but once you add all the upgrades you need to get to make it somewhat comparable to the higher end markers you find that you could get the higher end markers for a little more. But you should remember the player is the one area where the most improvement can be achieved, I still remember one day I was playing at tombstone and this one guy had a stock spyder and he was easily taking down people who had tricked out angels and cockers. The different stats for the nitro tank just mean how large the tank is. Some of the higher end tanks also have regulators on them which is why they can be so expensive.

Don't say you don't need a hopper with an agitator, you NEED a hopper with an agitator especially if you get a blowback because if you don't then you are going to chop balls and that's always fun... Also they help give a continuous feed so you don't start shooting air.

Last thing don't forget to get a harness to carry extra paint.
