It's a tax on the poor and stupid... But spending a dollar when one of the big multi-state lotteries is high isn't too bad (but I'd never do it)

On a related note - anyone ever read the short story called The Lottery? I think it was a short story. I read it in short story form. Anyway, it's a good read.

I live in a morrally uptight state that still does not have the lottery. Virginia and South Carolina get 100's of thousand of dollars from my state simply because the elected officials are bible thumping morons.

I'll buy a ticket once in a while..only if the jackpot is high, though (I think I bought one at 27mil, one at 80something, and one at 100+, IIRC).
