i'm bored, i should be stuying for finals but i need a break.

anyway, i dont have a computer anymore, just a laptop.

anyone here playing on their laptop? how is it?
here are my specs:
P3 900mhz
128 mb RAM
s3 savage 8mb video card
school network connection 😉

do you think i'd be able to play in open GL without lag. i'am not sure if the video card can handle it

thanks

dang, i hate playing in software mode.

is it possible to change a video card in a laptop? i have an IBM Thinkpad?

You'll not be able to change the video card - the the savage card that's in there should be good enough to get you by. I've played in software mode on my girlfriend's Vaio laptop (worse video card than the savage), and it was bearable for short games...

ok, i dont completely understand this Software mode.

playing in software mode, does it just mean that the graphics are like crap, or does it cause you to lag even more?

Both. The software renders everything, not the video card.. which is more processor dependant and doesn't have the accelration that a 3d card features. This is kinda a rough explanation and I might be a lil wrong, but I think that's the basic jist of it.
