Anyone here play Company of Heroes

Hey folks,

I just started playing Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts and was wondering if any fellow AT'ers play the game as well. In particular, I was looking for teammates for 2v2, or 3v3, or just someone to play 1v1 with. Currently I'm not that great - just got to Lvl 4 with Wehrmacht, but I'm getting there!

Fun game, but I suck. Never even attempted a human opponent.

the hard thing about playing on line now, there are so many guys that have been heavy into it since release, even after i spent two weekends doing hard ai opponent practices, it was way to easy to get beaten by a person when i tried that.

this, I play occasionally but there are too many pros. It is pretty fun though.

Hard AI isn't that hard. People are also much more able to vary strategy, the AI gets very predictable.
One suggestion if you want to try against real people is to watch replays and see how people play.

i get stomped when i play against people. My brother and I play custom maps with the AI. All the original maps that came with CoH have been played to death and everyone has their working strategies for each one, so we end up getting rolled over in about 10 minutes. we love playing on custom maps because it feels like it takes more strategic planning with new terrain, new choke points and bottlenecks etc.

I used to play fairly often with my brother but ever since the start of spring semester he hasn't been available much.

If you're new to playing COH online you need to play ranked automatches. That way it will try to match you up with someone of similar skill. If you just play a free match you will most likely get stomped because you'll be matched up against someone who is already good at the game.

I fired this up last night and it has been such a long time since I've played I just created a new person and am going through the tutorial and campaign. I tried MP one time and before I could get one thing built I got overrun by tanks..it was ridiculous. But I do want to learn how to play better, I guess I'll google about replays, never thought of that.
