I've searched all over the internet for a solution. My GF loves playing Archeage but she has this issue where it reboots her computer. Sometimes all it takes is selecting her character and soon as the load bar is full her PC shuts down.

Her stock PC when the issue first started:
i5 3570K
GTX 680
Corsair G600W
2x4GB Corsair 1600 DDR3
Creative Titanium
Windows 7 64bit
Corsair H60

Changes I've made since I started trying to trouble shoot it:
i7 2600K
GTX 780 Lightning
Corsair H110i

I guess next I'll update her MOBO bios. So far this issue is exclusive to Archeage. Searching for info leads to a lot of "your computer is overheating/time for an upgrade" responses. I started to suspect a faulty PSU (she left the window open one day and it rained) but I stress tested the system:
Loaded up WoW, cranked settings and 4xSSAA her GPU load was 100%
Loaded up Intel Stress test - CPU load was 100%

Temps never got dangerous: CPU stayed at 60C, GPU at 65C.

And no power off, which told me PSU was feeding both components fine. I'm at my wits end to figure out the issue. I let her use my PC when she gets frustrated and it has zero issues. Parts are similar (I'm starting to wonder if its a Windows issue, she's on Win 7 I'm on Win 8.1). Systems are currently are in sig.

tl;dr:
Why is archeage rebooting her PC (not crashing to desktop, full power off) even just loading her character (not even giving the system time to load GPU/CPU). Tried a bunch of things (see above) and ruled out heat, power supply, drivers, and most common things.

Anyone experience something similar?

Have you tried turning on vsync on the Nvidia control panel? Maybe some menu is causing her comp to go into 1000s of fps and overloading the PSU. Had a friend with a 290X that would cause his computer to reboot in game menus if he didn't have vsync on.

She runs MSI AB and we monitor frame rate. In-game v-sync keeps it at 60 in menus. Even more why I'm so baffled. Haha.

Updating BIOS right now. Oh, didn't mention above already uninstalled game and re-installed with no difference.

BIOS updated din't help, PC went down twice. :/

Guess I'll try swapping the PSU tomorrow while she's out shopping. If that also fails, I guess Archeage is just a PoS.

What do the Windows error logs say? Nobody bothers checking these anymore for some reason. :p

When the system shuts down while running something CPU or GPU intenstive it's usually:

overheating CPU (should throttle)
overheating GPU (should throttle or even reboot)
PSU not good enough quality
faulty memory (should cause a BSOD and reboot more than a shutdown)
faulty motherboard (VRM getting fried)

Diagnosing sudden system shutdown is a pain in the ass.

My guild of 12+ years migrated to Archeage and I just don't like that game so I don't bother playing it anymore.

The discussion I see with Rift people about Archeage (same dev) is that it's a beautiful game with a lot of good content with a horrible, abusive, P2W business model.

No logs, PC just shuts off. No BSOD, no memory dump. Installed "Who Crashed" reports nothing since the power just instantly get's cut off.

Overheating CPU - went from H60 to H100i, heat is not an issue. Temps <60C at full load Prime95 stress test. PC didn't flinch
Overheating GPU - went from a GTX 680 with custom fan profile because this game would run her GPU hot. Temps were reigned down to 60C with loud as eff fan. Swapped it out for a GTX 780 Lightning, noise and heat no longer an issue, temps don't climb over 55C, card is also stronger so @1080 Ultra settings load sits in 60-70% range. Temps for GPU no an issue.
PSU - questionable. I stress tested it by loading up Prime95 and WoW with 1080 set to 4xSSAA+CMAA. CPU/GPU load pegged at 100% for 10 minutes, PSU never flinched. Room started to get hot but system kept the load up just fine. Seemed only ArcheAge caused random PC reboots. <More info below>
Faulty RAM - two runs of Memtest86 and Windows Memtest, no issues found.
Faulty Mobo - not sure how to test this. Updated BIOS to newest version with no success, all her hardware is stock. Power phasing seems to work on CPU as it idles @800mhz and jumps up to 1300/1600mhz for light work before full clocks for games.

She doesn't even play the game for anything but the farming. She's a fan of Harvest Moon and the junk and this is the first MMO she's played (beside Tabula Rasa or whatever that was she kept going on about) that let's her just farm. Which is why I'm more desperate to fix this issue because she greatly enjoys it. After a few reboots I just let her use my PC which seems to have no issues.

Thing's I've done to trouble shoot so far:
Put a new CPU: from i5 3570K to i7 2600K (also she is doing more encode work for her job figured it would help with that too).
Put a new GPU: from GTX 680 to GTX 780 Lightning
Put a new cooler: from H60 to H100i
Deep scanned her drives and deleted trash files, temp files, anything related to the game, to nonsense, etc, and reinstalled the game.
Updated the MoBo BIOS.

After ruling out most of the other hardware components I just swapped out her GS600 with my old TX750. So far the game loaded fine, but every changed I've done would result in a few hours or a day of no issues then back to normal just shutting off.

Sometimes it shuts off without even loading assets. You'd pick your character sit at a loading screen, moment the bar hits 100% it would power off. You never actually see the in-game graphics.

She plays other games on her system: Sims 4, WoW, Civilizations 5, Magicka, but it's ArcheAge specifically that gives any issue.

So at current state of troubleshooting: different PSU, if issue continues next step is swapping RAM and then complete system Format.

Haha. I just find it odd that if it is the PSU swap that fixes it, why her old PSU held like a champ at what I deemed higher loads than this game puts on her system. Oh well, wait and see at this point.

Just an update, new PSU seems to be helping out. She's had a few game sessions without issue (thus far).

Well then, how can I test out a PSU? Because I still find it odd if the PSU was the issue and why was only ArcheAge causing the reboots?
