Anyone here play Action Quake2?

I broke out the old Quake2 CD today with my friend that was on the network with his laptop. He's never played aq2- even though he's sworn himself to CS. I keep trying to tell him that aq2 was the godfather to CS almost. I remember on the OGL I was around the 300 mark. PLayed that game til' my 266mhz Vaio fell apart.

Anyway... anyone still playin it out there?

I used to back in the day.
I was in a clan that was pretty good.
We were in first on whatever ladder it was we were on before we broke up.
Then I went through a few other clans.
Anyways that was a lot of fun, I never got into CS.

Yup played it all the time. Precursor to CS. I certainly don't play it anymore...

damn, that was old school! I remember the M4, which shot orange sparks at whatever you shot at, since it was used in place of the plasma gun thing. I used to play at the highest pings, going around with the shotgun, shooting at people, or jump-kicking people and shooting them, or sniping at 300 ping and being good at it. Really fun stuff.

Yeah i still play, there is still a server that stays up called Bloody waters Action DM, they have a maxi dm server.

i went as {WRA}Smurf, and still do. Alot of people have moved on to reaction quake 3 though, the second beta came out not long ago, they did a damn good job replicating the engine and strafe jumping, its a really fun game to play. You can check it out at www.reactionquake3.com
