Pre Amp LMC1
Amp LPA1

Review and comments on various forums I have read indicate this to be a good value for the money. Certainly better then the onkyo 805 and the denon 987 I was looking at. I dont really care about the extra features I will end up not using. Just want a solid, clean souding amp and processor.

As for speakers, I am going the DIY route after look at what the driver costs are versas what you end up paying for...

I almost got these but ended up going with a set by Boston Acoustics.

Did you look at AV123's forum for info about them too?

So you're not worried about audio over HDMI?
I think he first version of them seemed to have some issues with applying surround processing to some different sound formats, but they cleared that up now afaik.

i am not worried about that for now. A digital coax cable will do. Plus their trade up program seems very tempting to me as well. 40% off and you can keep the existing equipment :). When the -2 versions come out I will surely be ready for an upgrade then. I havent look at av123 forum yet. I did some searching on avsforum though.

I must be really off my posting pace, when the heck did you git 23k o_O

Emotiva used to be sold through AV123, so there are a ton of threads about their products over there. (At least the "Big Dogs" (DMC-1 / MPS-1) and the "Ultra Lites" (LMC-1 / LPA-1).

That would also be a place to check out used deals on stuff (AV123 classifieds area) if you're into that. Of course you wouldn't get the trade-in...

Or you could do something like buy the LMC-1 from Emotiva and then get a used MPS-1 :p

Of course maybe you're not looking for 115 pounds of amp right now ;)

When did I get to 23k?
Probably about March? I haven't been posting nearly as much as usual since February due to being really sad earlier and now I have no time anymore (in a very very good way).

Nowhere near the pace of over 50ppd I kept up for over a year. (I only made 360 posts total the first 4 years I was a member here)
