Anyone here own a Saitek keyboard (or any illuminated keyboard)?

Thinking of ordering one of the Saitek keyboards but I'm not sure which Eclipse board is the better one. I've heard some people praising the first one as the better model, but others insist that the second one works best.

The difference is only 20 bucks from what I've seen, so for me the only factor is which one looks best when it's illuminated. Anyone own a Saitek? What's your thoughts on it? Is there anything out there better than a Saitek? (excluding the G15 and the OLED keyboards(

I have two original Saitek Eclipses and I love them. One is red and one is blue. This month I plan on getting a Saitek Eclipse II for my new SFF build I'm starting. After having used the original I'm convinced the Eclipse II will be just as good if not better. The reviews I have seen seem to confirm this.

I have a Saitek Eclipse "Executive" keyboard.

It is illuminated with a blue light. The light is just a prop - nothing more. I thought it would illuminate the keys well enough to work in a pitch black room with no other light. I was dead wrong. The light looks nice but has practically no "real life use". However, if I would be choosing between no illumination and the low illumination I get from the Eclipse I'd choose the Eclipse, because it DOES help you see the keys A LITTLE better in "no light" conditions, but dont count on it to be your light source on the keyboard.I got the executive one, because it was cheaper, and because all the bells and whistles on the more expensive models are useless to an average person.
My model is nice and simple. It has the best features of the Eclipse and nothing extra. Perfect for my needs. It's rock solid and perfect in every way.

Only problem is hair, dust and other crap always gets between the buttons.. But I guess that's the problem with all keyboards.

I don't have a problem seeing the keys on my original Saitek Eclipse blue at night. In fact, I usually turn the brightness to the low setting because with the brightness on high it can be a bit distracting when gaming at night IMO. Not too much, but if I'm playing a creepy/dark game I want complete darkness other than what my monitor puts out in order to fully immerse myself in the game's atmosphere and mood.

Of course, I am pretty adept at typing and know where all of the keys are even with no light; I had no problem at night when using my previous Logitech keyboard that comes with the MX Duo.

I haven't used the "executive" version of the Saitek Eclipse that ibex333 mentioned, but I do own the regular version and the backlighting does illuminate the keys well enough to locate them with no problems in a pitch black room.

thanks for the feedback guys, I pulled the trigger on the original Saitek (I like the deisgn of that one better). Can't wait to try it out.
