Are they "much" bigger than a Landcruiser?

how would they compare in the offroad stakes?

And by that I was referring to the H2. The H1 is a good deal wider, but still probably not longer..

Which hummer?

The H1s are huge compared to the Land Cruisers, and they offroad well in many cases. Thier size is a double edges sword, as well as the independant suspension which yeilds reletively poor articulation. Ground clearance is good as well as stability on side slopes though.

The H2s are effectively a re-modled suburban w/ less overhangs.

Not really, if you can afford $60k for the H2 or double that for the H1 gas won't be much of a concern to you..

The H1's are around $140k. And less usable as a daily driver.

I actually just checked Edmunds, seems like the new H1 Alpha version is about 15 inches less wide than the old H1..making it somewhat streetable.
