Anyone here own a FN SCAR?

Considering there are about 100 or so out there, and going for $8000+, really doubt it.

I have seen a guy post on a another forum claim that he got one for around $2500.00. He did have pics to prove he had the rifle. I was just curious to see if anyone here had handled one civilian or military. Hopefully they will get more on the market soon before it's too late.

I doubt many people have even seen them in person let alone own one since they are so rare atm.

On a side note the MSRP on them if and when they go into full production and importation is in the $2500 ballpark.

On a nice note the HK416 civilian model MR223 and HK417 civilian model MR762 should be hitting the streets soon since they will be making them in the NH HK plant.

There were folks with preorders from FN stocking dealers (only folks who could get them) at the MSRP which was right around there.

Most folks are flipping them though.

Only 1 on gunbroker right now, current bid is $5300 or so.

Don't all FN guns use their proprietary and super expensive ammo?

The PS Carbine and the 5-7 pistol uses the 5.7mm round created by FN but they make other rifles that use the 5.56 and 7.62 standard NATO rounds.

That is a sweet gun.

On a side note, does anyone know if there's a civilian version of the H&K G36? That looks like a pimp-ass gun.

Yes, the HK SL8

AFAIK they don't make them any more due to demand.

There are some G36 conversions out there for the SL8, but are expensive.

Cool, thanks for the info. I think the default stock looks weird but otherwise it looks good. I've love to own one some day.

Edit: n/m, I just realized your edit. Guess my only option would be to find a used one somewhere?

Ok, what is the difference between this weapon and the M-16 and AK47? I am a gun noob. But I am interested in case I have to some day repel a zombie invasion.

since they're a military supplier, it wouldnt make sense for them to make guns that dont use military ammo. any gun they expect to be able to ship to military will use 5.56 or 7.62.

Shotguns are always more effective in zombie invasions... Plus, the ammo is cheap and you can get it easier. If zombies invaded right now and you had a 5.56mm/.223 cal AR-15 you wouldn't be able to get 5.56 and you'd be waiting weeks to pick up a lousy couple of boxes of 20 rounds of the .223 from walmart. By then, they'd have your brains.

Everyone's been buying guns since Obama got elected and the threat of the 500% increase in ammo tax is causing people to go crazy (including myself).
