And why don't you like a white laser printer? Are you racist? :D

(Stupidity aside, they print well. Not as good as some high end bubble jets, but well. Toner is outrageous though. Get a thermal wax printer for quality.

You need to add a lot of RAM to color laser printers to make them work properly. They usually ship with the minimum for two tone printing or basic line art color. Photographic results are achievable with the additional RAM.

I'll agree with the original statement. Some color lasers just aren't designed for photoquality or full-page color printing and more for the occasional (solid or lightly-shaded) color pie chart while bubblejets were designed with full-page color in mind. If you wanted the best laser quality photoquality color printer, you would be looking at the large format printer's printer -- it just happens that some network color lasers are able to output decent photographs.

Depends on the printer make and model. And sometimes the manufacturer will sell it as proprietary when indeed they are standard desktop memory modules.
