Anyone here meditate?

Does it help? Any tips for someone looking at doing it? How long do you do it for?

I've heard many a good thing about meditating relaxing you and keeping you calm..and lately I've kind of tried just clearing my mind as possible right before I sleep, and just focus on my breathing, but would like to try to expand on this.
 
the first and last time i tried meditating, it reminded me that i have an exam the day before, and that my pizza been in the oven for about an hour after it was finished.
