What powers your monitor and computer?

I'd love to build a carputer with some extra parts I have but I'm beginning to think its very hard to build.

inverter won't survive the crank so you will also need a tank circuit.
Low -medium power computer = opus
high power = inverter
 
mp3car is the place to be. My friend's been working to get it into a 98'talon TSI, but has had trouble finding a reasonably priced LCD screen (he want's in dash naturally). Also, depending on what car you have find a forum, and you'll find people with specific expirience for your car (ie dsmtuners, g20.net) etc.
