just wanna see how you guys felt about the move. did you like/dislike it? if i do move, i think i will enjoy it. it's just that i will be leaving family and friends. decisions, decisions.

it would be helpful if you told us where in cali
not every part of cali is palm trees, beaches and mangos you know...

I live in cali and have been to the east coast. all I can say is

Cali> east coast.

well... work might be in mountain view. is that considered northern cali?

Anything north of Mavs is Nor Cal. IMO. Most people would consider anything north of Daly City Nor Cal.

Mountain View is a pretty cool city, that have an awesome concert venue there.

California is God's toilet 😛

I did move from the west coast to the east coast, though... portland, ore -> NYC. I liked the weather in the pac northwest a lot better.

I made the NJ to CA transition 3 years ago and it's not bad. You only have to get over two major hurdles.

1) Gas is expensive
2) It doesn't rain 10 months out of the year

Beyond that, it's a nice change. The waiters are a helluva lot more attentive in CA from what I experienced.

yeah, my sister told me that gas was a bit more out there. what's it at now? i'm paying around $1.90 here.

the funny thing about cali... i have visited my sister twice out there (she lives in LA). both times i went, it did nothing but rain 😕

How about just a little under $3 depending on where you shop. The 'no rain' rule should follow especially in southern california. Did you visit during Winter? That's the only time it could ever rain.

i will prolly be needing to get a car out there too. i was thinking about shipping my car out there, but i was told i will most likely fail emissions testing. econobox, here i come.

Heh... my friend lives in Sunnyvale (right near Mtn View, IIRC) and said that pretty much everyone out there is from somewhere else, mostly the midwest or east coast.

Yeah that's why that area sucks now😉

mountain view is good, lived there for 2yrs. when I moved up to norcal ... it's pretty much in the middle of the bayarea, you're close to palo alto and santa clara, not too far away from the city, etc.
