Anyone here listen to Operation Ivy in the '80s?

Hell yes. Saw Tim Armstrong at a small club in Little Rock (this was post-Operation Ivy during the Rancid years). He said I could crash at his house next time I was in Berkeley. 😛

edit: I've never been to Berkeley

edit2: Back in those days, it was all about some Op Ivy, Fugazi/Minor Threat, Green Day (pre-dookie), NOFX, Descendants, Bad Religion, Beastie Boys, and I also couldn't stop listenening to Pretty Hate Machine. 😛

I know things are gettin' tougher when you can't get the top off the bottom of the barrel.

...what the hell is that supposed to mean anyway?

It's hard being a misfit among misfits.

Someone stole my OpIvy cd. 🙁

I've been through 3 cassettes and a cd version of that one album. (i think it might have been called "Energy", the one with the black and white cover). Never could hold onto them.

hell yeah but bands like minor threat and bad brains were big here in DC.

:QBrings back many nice memories. I've been to many Bad Brains/HR shows. OMG, Minor Threat. God I feel old. I believe I still have some Operation Ivy 7"s packed away somewhere.

Never saw Op Ivy.

Best show I ever attended was a Bad Religion / BossTones show in '92 (?) it was absolutely amazing.
Did see Green Day in a small venue and a bunch of other bands...

just about a year ago I saw Tim and Lars acoustic at a small show of about 100 people maybe and ended up talking to lars after the show out back- that was pretty cool. They played Knowledge but that was the only op ivy song they did.
