I just dug this CD out again after what seems like a year and I'm amazed all over again. Return of the Space Cowboy is probably one of my alltime favorite albums. Anyone else out there like these guys?

Random Question Man strikes again!:p

They're alright. I have them in my WMP "funky background music for parties" mix.

"Thank god for you, Random Question Man! I was going to hang myself if I had to read yet another "I'm a socially stunted, single geek with a chronic masturbation problem." thread. :p

FWIW- I can suggest lots of stuff you might like if you like Jamiroquai.

For starters:

Massive Attack
Quarashi
DJ Shadow
DJ Krush

Not really the same genre exactly, but similar enough you might enjoy them (if you're not already familiar with them).

I've heard some good things about DJ Shadow and Krush, I might download a few of their tracks tonite and get a feel for their albums. What are some of their better songs?

I just recently got into Portishead, if you're in the right mood they make some great music

DJ Shadow: "The Private Press" and "Endtroducing" are both pretty good. He tends to occasionally indulge in the psuedo-masturbatory "I'm the baddest DJ ever!" stuff, but most of it's very listenable.

DJ Krush: "Ki-Oku" is far and away his best work IMO. Very smooth acid-jazz collaboration with Toshinori Kondu (excellent trumpet player). Perfect music to kick back with a nice glass of wine to. "Zen" is also good, but funkier and more up-tempo.....more of a hip-hop vibe.

Yep. I'm a big fan. They are amazing live if you get a chance. You wouldn't think their stuff would translate well to the stage, but they pull it off.

I was a big fan of jamiroquai, until jay's latest album. funk oddysee is pure crap. it's just euro teeny pop. emergency on planet earth was fantastic. he started there in acid jazz and he should have stayed there. I think he was alright through travelling without moving because he had just progressed from acid jazz to more funk. but after that there just started being too much pop influence.
