I used to know this guy in college that would buy huge jars of pickles. When he finished the pickles, he would pour the "juice" into a pint glass and drink it while watching TV.
 
deep fried or the really good dill ones that "snap" when you bite into them.
 
I had never heard of fried pickles before last year...tasty. 🙂

And you know who likes pickles? Alton Brown 😀 He has a whole episode dedicated to making your own and he mentions it occasionally in other segments as well (beets, for instance).
