Anyone here like bubble tea?

There's a place here in Ann Arbor called Bubble Island. I've never been there, but I've heard that the tea is really good. Basically, you can get milk tea or fruit tea, but the real novelty are these little tapioca balls that they put in there too.

I'm thinking that I'll pick up a cup of tea tomorrow. The prices are really high ($3.50/cup) but before 1 p.m. every day, all drinks (including the bubble thingies) are only $2.

I've heard that in SoCal and other really trendy places there are bubble tea shops every 10 feet and you can get it for $1/cup. Anyone here a fan of bubble tea?

Yeah B!

Bubble Tea is the shiznitch yo!

There was a place just west of University of Washington that served Bubble Tea and it was delicious. You usually have to be in a large city to order something like that but it is well worth it.

There are also different flavors of Bubble Tea.

Yeah, in Irvine there must be dozens of Boba places around. They're not bad, but I'm not that fond of paying $2 for non-alcoholic drinks all the time.

It's all the rage up here in the Great White North too, at least according to the news. I'm Bubble Tea curious, but since I live in the middle of no where(aptly named Midway) I have yet to have any. One day I'll have to saddle up the horse and head off to the big city I spose.

jumpr, you should like it, it's pretty good...the place we have in AA is "okay", but it's nothing like you'll find in Toronto or the coasts. If you want to keep some American aspects in your drink, they have an oreo flavor. ;) It's just oreos in the drink, it's not bad. I like the almond and the red bean there. If you're not too fond of the bubbles (you can get a sample), you can try their jelly drinks or just get a thai tea or something like that. (frozen drinks too)

While you're there, sit down and play a game of photo hunt in the back . ;)

(note: some people know it as "boba" tea or something like that)

As an Asian man I find the term bubble tea a bastardization. I refer to it as Boba, as does my Taiwanese mother (who grew up with it).

That is the real term. When it came to the states it was standardized to be called bubble tea. Stay true to its roots people, it's called Boba tea.

Psh, I wish... $1/cup???

Mmmmmmmmmm, milk boba tea from BobaWorld... $3.75 a cup, but it's worth it. They have cars they stamp every time you buy... every card has like 8 squares, and I've filled 6 so far... (gah... $180 on boba tea o_O )
