Anyone here Lactose Intolerant?

In the past few months I've had lots of irritating pains and whatnot, and the other day someone suggested that I might be lactose intolerant. Yesterday I had no milk products of any kind, and I felt pretty good but didn't really think much about it. Today I had some milk and now I feel like crap!

I've never been lactose intolerant before as far as I know, and so I'm jsut wondering if anyone else here has had experience with this issue. Can it just "hit you" all of a sudden? Anyone know why, if so?

Same here. It kind of works as a laxative for me. I still drink it though. It's sooo good!

I loved milk growing up, now as of last year I'm lactose intolerant too 🙁 Sucks. I drink it anyways and deal with the consequences.

yes, you can develop it as you grow up. Why, I have no idea.
Maybe because you need lots of protein and calcium up to puberty...and afterwards, not as much.

I know I wasn't this bad until my college years...

That's something, coming from a couple of cows. What did you drink as a calf?

Man, it's good to hear I'm not the only one in this irritating situation. I LOVE milk, Ice Cream, cheese...frickin' dairy products galore! I guess I will have to stop at the store on the way home and get some of that Lactaid or something. I hate the pain and other associated symptoms, but I dunno if I can give up milk! 🙂

I grew up drinking lots of milk. Although one day when I was 9, I was eating hotdogs and drinking milk, and I got uber sick. I puked and took a shitter at the same time. My stools were green and slimey, like bright green snot. Ass mucus? Yeah after that, I became lactose intolerant. Maybe that was the enzyme that helps break down lactose, and I just crapped it out.

I am extemely lactose intolerant, and massive dosages of dairy of an type turns me into a bioterror weapon.

I blow up with gas, my breath smells like ass, and minutes later the rest of the house smells like ass. I'm not talking about inviting, friendly, freshly washed ass. I'm takling about homeless, laying in the corner of the Greyhound station, poo-peanuts-matted-in-butt-fur ass.

That is about when the sh!ts begin. I have been known to paint the inside of the bowl with my anal discharge. Not pretty. Sometimes green... often caramel in color... always foul and in great quantity.

The dog and cat leave the bedroom when I enter the bathroom. They aren't willing to take any chances.

And it justs gets worse with age. 🙂

If you don't continuously drink milk/eat milk products, you can lose the enzyme that breaks it down, which leads to lactose intolerance. At least, that's what they told me back in college.

I don't know how long you can go with no milk before losing the enzyme.

EDIT: By "lose the enzyme" I mean that your body stops producing the enzyme permanently.

i became lactose intolerant around highschool/college when i stopped drinking milk. now i have the sh1ts when i drink it. lactaid helps with ice cream, ice latte coffee, and when i have the urge to eat cereal.

Milk is for baby cows, not adult humans. Is it any surprise that it is bad for most people, and causes ill effects? It is most certainly not the "health food" that the dairy industry would have you believe it is. I lost 15 lbs in 2 months after I quit drinking milk 3 years ago.
