I've been hearing a lot about FXP lately, but I don't know exactly what it is. All I know is it's server -> server instead of server -> client, but what's the real advantage to that? Why do some people think it's better than FTP?

FXP allows you to transfer a file from a server to another server. Without FXP, you have to first download the file to your machine, then upload it to the 2nd server. By getting rid of the middleman, it just about cuts transfer times in half, and saves your machine a lot of bandwidth.

Its used for transferring files from server to server by remote control (kinda). It allows a person on a 28.8 connection to transfer files from one fast server to another at fast speed. It does not help get the files any faster to your own computer.
