I'm trying to monitor my video card temps via speedfan. In speedfan it shows:

temp1 : 44C
temp2 : 47C
Temp3: 55C
Temp: 0C
HD0: 32C

Now, I'm assuming that HD0 = Hard Disk.
But what are temp1, temp2, and temp3. I have a DFI Ultra D SLI mobo with
AMD 4000+ and 2 x evga 6800gt vid cards.

Thanks!

On my computer, temp1 is the ambient case temp, 2 is the CPU, and 3 is jibberish (-25 C), probably video.

unplug the fan then see temps rise, the temp that rises is the one you unplugged. :)

Thanks UsandThem. I must say that I'm both relieved and Pi**ed at the same time. I've been trying to diagnose this problem all day and it turns out to be a software reporting issue. ARGGGGHHH.

Oh well, at least now we know. I really appreciated you taking the effort to find this for me.

Do you recommend a software package that can monitor my video card temps a little better? 3rd party?

I'm trying speedfan right now but I don't know what I'm looking at exactly....

No, as long as you are using the extra case fans (one in front, one in back, and one on side) and you are not having any stability problems, I wouldn't worry about it. I would just keep an eye on the evga forums to see when they finally get the error fixed.

Make sure you register your cards at evga.com so you get an extra year warranty on them (two years instead of one).
