Anyone here know anything about real estate?

I bough a trailer three years ago from where I live. I just got a huge gas leak and almost had my house blow up with my three year old and I in it. When the gas company came to check it out he told me that my gas line is not up to code. Meaning I was to have a hard metal line come out from under the trailer and then the flex line gets connected to it on the outside. Well mine was hooked up bringing the flex line under the trailer and that is what is leaking. My problem is I am being told that the way it was installed is not code and shouldnt of been doen that way. Also he said the trailer shouldnt of been sold like that because of the danger.
I called the office and told them that I had the gas leak and what I was told. I asked if they would fix it because thats how the home was sold to me, not to code. I was told I bought the house as is and there is nothing they will do for me because they didnt sell me the house. We are under new management but kept the same name so to me since they bought out the old owners but kept the name they still have to put up with the problems of the prevous owners.
Am I wrong? Please LMK if there is anything I can do to get them to fix this? I am dissabled and my wife is working only making $6.50 an hour and we cannot afford to pay someone to fix our home. So I need to know if I have something on the new owners to fix it or do I sell more of my stuff?
Thank you in advance for your help,
Jay

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you, but here's a *bump* in the hopes someone else does.

take $20 and get the pipe and fittings and replumb it, pretty simple task. Remember to spray soapy water on connection afterwards to check for leaks

Sorry missed the dissabled part, I bet if you checked around the park someone would give you a hand

Well I would if I could move🙂.
My wife isnt the smartest thing under the sun (I love her to death) and she works from 6:30 am to somethimes past 5pm. then she has to come home and clean house, do the dishes, fed all of us, do laundry, take out the dogs and by the time she would get even close to try to tackle a gas line it will be time to get the boys to bed and she has to get to bed early to do it all over again.
Believe me if I wasnt dissabled there wouldnt be this thread at all, Id do it.
I just feel the park is responsable because they sold me the home not to code and the gas wont go back on till its fixed.

It's a pretty simple task... and spraying it with soapy water isn't going to do a thing if there isn't any gas suppled to the pipe.
The $20 that someone above mentioned is probably a pretty good estimate Hopefully you'll find someone willing to do that for you.

There's a chance that it was okay by code when it was originally done, but isn't okay by today's code. Nonetheless, I can't see how it was truly "dangerous," although, most codes do take into account safety factors. Maybe I'm not picturing it right, but I can't see how having the connection 1 foot from the wall is any more dangerous than having the connection 1 foot under the trailer... Except, of course as happened to you, a leak at the connection results in the gas building up under the trailer, rather than in the open.

It shouldn't have been leaking though.
