One of my kids skateboard is messed up, the axle is sticking further out on one side from the truck. I can probably just buy a whole new truck but do not know what to look for. There are a ton of options on ebay

I did a lot of skating back in the day. I'm assuming it's a legitimate skateboard and not some POS from Walmart? If it's a Walmart board you're probably better off scrapping it and buying an entire new board because you won't find a generic truck they use on those for anything worth your time and money. If it's a legit board, you can unscrew the truck and usually find the brand of truck fairly easily. A model number would even be better (usually indicates size). I used CCS to buy everything when it came to skating - it looks like they're still around:

Just go buy him some Independent trucks. Decide on the length.

It is an Almost brand

Almost is legit -- that's Mullen's brand IIRC.

As I said, just get the measurement of the trucks and buy any reputable brand. Independent, Gullwing... Hell you can order on Amazon now.

I remember in the 80s having to BEG my mom to drive me the shop (30 mins away) or order from Thrasher and it'd take weeks to get delivered. Meanwhile my board sat dead :(

Doing a little reading (I'm WAY out of touch) it appears they sell different size diameter axles now? I would assume there is a "standard" and I'd bet anything your's is a standard size. Guess it would depend on the bearing diameter.

I remember sidewalk surfing about 1962 maybe 1963 and busting my posterior trying to show off for a girl I was dating. Sidewalk surfboards weren't like skates or the skateboards; they would sometimes over steer on turns (like a driveway to a sidewalk). The last time I saw skateboard (other than watching Back to the Future) was 30 years ago and the quality was far better (didn't take the wheels, now called trucks, off an old pair of shoe skates and attach them to a piece of plywood or a two foot 8" by 1" board);

I imagine you could get parts readily at hand if you live in a town that has a skateboard park.

Wow, Mullen jumped from P/P? He was one of my favorite skaters, the shit he did was insane. Lance Mountain is still skating, as is Cab. And Alva as well.

Yea, it's been a few decades for me too. I worked for a place that sold skate parts to bikeshops and sports stores across the country. Good to see Indy and Gullwing still around.
